5mm Leather Mid-Sole with Vibram Christy Wedge Sole

A custom option for Red Wing Moc Toes. Instead of replacing the mid-sole with resin, we instead use a 5mm oak bark tanned leather sole. The leather sole is then grooved to make a channel that allows the new welt stitching to imbed into the leather sole and not sit prowd. The Vibram Christy wedge sole is then heat treated and stuck onto the leather mid-sole. 
 
This construction method means that the wedge sole can be replaced later (once worn down) without having to replace the leather mid-sole and saving wear on the welt from repeated stitching.
 
It also looks great.
